Chris Ryan's war TV shows that has maintained top ratings on both UK and US screens since 2010. The controversial Section 20 tasked with accomplishing impossible missions of saving the globe always gets the job done. However, one this is obvious in Strike Back; no one is indispensable.

From the first season to date, the show has been able to bring great actors on board, including Andrew Lincoln and Sullivan Stapleton, but it never allows fans to fall in love. Both the good and the bad guys are eliminated in the missions, some of them, way before fans can see the best of them.

Manisha Chetri

Lance Corporal Manisha Chetri, played by Varada Sethu, was one of the best analysts in Strike Back since the exit of Julia Richmond. Although she didn't develop a strong relationship with the rest of Section 20, she had proven herself to be a real Strike Backer. She was the only member of the team willing to pursue truth and justice in the traditional sense of the .

She had to go rogue with the evidence of the conspiracy by British Intelligence and the CIA. However, in Strike Back, whenever any team member goes rogue, their death is not far off. She dies at the hands of Arianna Demachi in full view of the helpless Section 20. Worse still, She hasn't delivered the evidence to any reliable authority that can help her and the team. Her death is so far the most premature since the return of Strike Back in Revolution.

Julia Richmond

Julia Richmond, Portrayed by Michelle Lukes, is one of the few characters that make Strike Back look incomplete since her death in Legacy. She had officially established herself as Scott's most reliable lover and the best female soldier in section 20. The fans were only getting introduced to the tough but loving Seargent Richmond.

Her position as an indispensable member of the section was established in Vengeance when she comes to Somalia to rescue Scott and Stonebridge. All fans expected her to become the main female protagonist in the film, but she fell victim to Mei Foster in Legacy. Her death was probably the saddest for both her fans and the fans of Sergeant Scott.

Rebecca Levi

Rebecca (Lyne Renee) was the Mossad agent tasked with correcting the mistakes of the Mossad, who had put nuclear weapons in the wrong hands. Although she wasn't always professional as a soldier, she was a great fighter. Her complicated relationship with Sergeant Scott also made her invaluable to the show.

Other squates of Section 20 didn't love her that much, but she always gave a helping hand, especially when they needed to catch Kamali in Colombia. Despite playing a vital role, she was never fully introduced to the fans. She also didn't get the chance to fulfill any of her Mossad missions. Her untimely death left lots of unanswered questions.

Oliver Sinclair

Major Sinclair wasn't exactly the best leader of Section 20, but at least he was the only one without a dirty past. He was also a strong team player who kept the mission going despite the loss of significant leadership. Sinclair became the first victim to the corrupt South African officers, a death that came before accomplishing anything significant.

Although he managed to warn the rest of Section 20 to escape certain death, it just wasn't enough to kill him off as fans expected him to foster the rebirth of Section 20 after the end of its tainted leadership under Hugh Collinson and Eleanor Grant.

John Porter

John Porter was the first protagonist in the series portrayed by Richard Armitage. The disgraced soldier is a victim of the actions of his superiors and never gets a chance to absolve himself in the series.

While the death of Hugh Collinson, who was his biggest betrayer, gave the viewers some relief, Porter never got a chance to understand why the system betrayed him. His death also denied him the chance to repair his relationship with his family. Richard Armitage wanted out because he had a role in The Hobbit, although his death left the fans of the show with no closure.

Kate Marshall

Anyone that loved Stonebridge couldn't help but enjoy his relationship with Kate. Kate entered Section 20 as the best team manager and a great analyst. She was also the only person that brought out the best of romance in Seargent Stonebridge and, by far, the most daring woman in Project Dawn.

Her untimely gruesome death with a bomb strapped to her was totally unexpected, considering the team had just found her and were expected to disarm it. Her death also made Stonebridge more of a muscle only character which was rather boring.

Sergeant Baxter

Most people failed to notice Liam Baxter (Liam Garrigan) as an essential member of Section 20 in Vengeance because he was a field agent. His help made it possible for Section 20 to find the nuclear triggers. Baxter also created a strong relationship with the team before going off to find Al Zuhari.

Fans expected him to be the main undercover asset for Section 20 in Shadow Warfare only to see him die at the hands of terrorists at the very beginning of the season. Baxter was also the only member of Section 20 who was comfortable to work under Rachel Dalton.

Rachel Dalton

Probably the worst leader ever in Section 20, but she definitely didn't deserve do die, especially at the hands of Makenna. Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra) was a dedicated soldier who pushed section 20 to its very brink in her bid to find and kill Al Zuhari. Her bossy character made her an antagonist to some extent in Shadow warfare, but her loyalty is still hard to dismiss.

The show had never fully introduced Rachel Dalton to the fans until after her death when it was revealed that she had a son. Her efforts and sacrifice throughout the season were also never compensated despite being the person that saved section 20 from being dismantled.

Thomas McAlister

McAlister entered Section 20 in Revolution with the same story as John Porter except for the "assaulting a senior officer" part. Mac brought Strike Back closer to the fame it had with Damien Scott and Michael Stonebridge.

Warren Brown's great performance and personality also attracted more love for Revolution and Vendetta, which is why no one expected him to die so soon and so tragically. He also died after going against the advice of his squates which makes his death somewhat disgraceful considering his contribution to Section 20.

Philip Locke

Philip Locke, portrayed by Robson Green, was the first leader of section 20 from Whitehall with a clean record. He has also been betrayed many times by the very government he works for and only comes to find out in Legacy just before his death.

He never gets closure for the murder of his son and also gets betrayed by the CIA and MI6 after accomplishing the toughest mission of section 20 since Project Dawn. Philip Locke, being killed off after rescuing Section 20 from Dalton's mistakes, was the last thing fans of Strike Back expected. Many officially wrote off the show after his death.
