It's a great time to be a fan of the Hulk, as the Jade Giant's lore continues to expand, bringing new gamma heroes and villains to Marvel Continuity. Indeed, in the last year Marvel has introduced several awesome new additions to Hulk lore, from a unique take on Hulk's superstrong nemesis to some shocking gamma-empowered heroes no-one saw coming.

Here are the eight strongest characters who only recently entered Hulk lore, including those who are totally new to Marvel lore and those who only recently gained gamma powers, dragging them into the eldritch horror and earth-shaking violence of Hulk's corner of the Marvel Universe.

8 Superior Avengers' Abomination

A Dark Fusion of Hulk's Nemesis and Captain America

Recently introduced in Superior Avengers #1 - from Steve Foxe, Kyle Hotz and Luca Maresca - the Abomination is a hero from a distant future where Doctor Doom takes over the world. Each member of this Superior Avengers roster uses the codename of an established Marvel villain, but with a bold new take on the character's core concept. Their leader is an unfamiliar Abomination more similar to Captain America than Hulk's iconic nemesis, wielding a shield glowing with suspicious green energy.

Marvel is only one issue into Superior Avengers, so we don't yet know exactly what Abomination can do. So far, he seems to have powers more similar to a Super Soldier than a gamma mutate, however here's betting that as the series nears its end, Abomination reveals he can assume a Hulk form befitting the codename. Indeed, he's likely to do so against Doctor Doom, as it's been revealed that while Doom believes the Superior Avengers are his servants, they're actually planning to assassinate him.

7 Charlie Tidwell's Lycana Form

Hulk's Sidekick Got Flying Werewolf Powers

Hulk has been traveling with troubled teen Charlie Tidwell for a while, but she recently gained her own superpowers (in Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Nic Klein and Danny Earls' Incredible Hulk #18.) Charlie has become the latest avatar of the demonic wolf god Lycana, and can transform into a towering, wolf-like form complete with gigantic wings. Along with lethal claws and teeth, Charlie also has the ability to shapeshift into anyone she consumes - a list that's growing longer and longer as Lycana exerts its influence over her.

The Hulk is famously 'The Strongest One There Is,' but these power upgrades took Bruce Banner from gamma strength all the way to godhood.

6 Powerlift, aka Dr. Keisha Kwan

Miles Morales' Superpowered Psychiatrist

Technically, Powerlift isn't part of Marvel lore yet, as this new Hulk is coming in August 14's Miles Morales: Spider-Man #33. However, her civilian persona as Dr. Keisha Kwan has been around for a while, helping Miles Morales process recent trauma and get over a block that was affecting his spider-sense. An old friend of Hulk ally Doc Samson, Powerlift is being recruited into Miles Morales' battle of the gods, as his new patron Anansi pushes him into conflict with Ares.

Uncolored previews of Powerlift's debut show that she'll start incredibly strong by battling literal gods, while Federico Vicentini's cover art shows the new hero crackling with gamma energy. Unlike most Hulks, it seems Dr. Keisha Kwan will have gained gamma powers on purpose, begging the question of why she set out to become a superstrong monster.

5 Ultimate She-Hulk, aka Lejori Zakaria

The Ultimates Recruited a Tragic Hulk

Marvel's recent Ultimate Universe line has been a huge success, introducing a new She-Hulk in Lejori Zakaria. Introduced in Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri's Ultimates #3, this She-Hulk lives on a Pacific Island deliberately exposed to gamma radiation by this world's nefarious Bruce Banner (aka the Legendary Hulk.) While most of the island's inhabitants suffered horrific mutations, She-Hulk was the only one to gain true 'superpowers,' turning her into a dedicated enemy of the secretive regime of villains who run the world.

4 Amadeus Cho's Grey Hulk

A New Form in a Doomed Future

Before Doom discovers Abomination and his team in Superior Avengers #1, he accesses another potential future forty-four years after Marvel's present. From this era, he brings forth a new version of Amadeus Cho, the former Totally Awesome Hulk and current Brawn. This Amadeus is an older freedom fighter in full Hulk form, but now with grey skin. Hulk and She-Hulk both have grey transformations, but fans have never seen Amadeus' before.

While Doom vaporizes Amadeus after the new grey Hulk attacks, Marvel long ago established that Hulks are immortal and can even heal from death. That means it's likely that the pile of dust that used to be a future Amadeus will eventually reconstitute, resurrecting the future Grey Hulk in the present.

3 The Legendary Hulk's Immortal Weapons

The World's Greatest Martial Artists Got Gamma

Having recruited She-Hulk in The Ultimates, Tony Stark's team of Ultimates charge into battle against the villainous Bruce Banner. Sadly, the Legendary Hulk isn't eligible for this list, since he was introduced back in 2023's Ultimate Invasion #2 (by Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch.) This version of Hulk is a callous villain who has used spiritual teachings to harness his rage, becoming the leader of a cult known as the Children of Eternal Light.

12 Strongest Non-Human Hulks in Hulk Lore, Ranked by Power Level

Gamma radiation turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk, but it's also made monsters out of a powerful array of aliens, robots and animals.

As Tony and She-Hulk attack, it turns out the Children of Eternal Light count a team known as the Immortal Weapons among their number. In Marvel's mainstream universe, the Immortal Weapons are part of Iron Fist lore, constituting the greatest martial artists in the world, with each protecting a hidden mystical city. However, in the twisted timeline of the Ultimate Universe, these warriors have fallen under Hulk's control, becoming his personal guard with help from a little gamma radiation.

The new Immortal Weapons attack with kung-fu blows that can only be measured in megatons, defeating Tony's team and badly injuring the young hero. The Immortal Weapons remain undefeated in Ultimates' current canon, and will be a huge obstacle in bringing down the villains who rule the world. Iron Fist's power is taken by the Hulk himself, while each of the Immortal Weapons operates using a new radiation-themed codename:

  • Tiger's Beautiful Daughter becomes Decay's Beautiful Daughter
  • Dog Brother #1 becomes Uranium Brother #235.
  • Bride of Nine Spiders becomes Bride of Nine World-Breakers.
  • Crane Mother becomes Crane Mother of the Bomb.
  • Prince of Orphans becomes Prince of Meltdowns.
  • Fat Cobra remains Fat Cobra.

2 Gamma Godzilla

The King of Monsters Got a Gamma Upgrade

In the recent Godzilla vs Hulk from Gerry Duggan and Giuseppe Camuncol, Z-list villain Doctor Demonicus gets a starring role as the creator of the tar-like kaiju Hedorah. Hulk and Godzilla team up against the villains, with Hulk donating his gamma energy in order to power-up Godzilla. Thanks to the Green Goliath's efforts, fans get something they never thought they'd see - a gamma-powered Hulkzilla.

While the Godzilla Hulk doesn't last for long, fans get to see Godzilla grow even bigger with emerald green scales, obliterating Hedorah with gamma-powered atomic breath. It's a pop culture moment that could only come from this totally unique crossover, and will have fans praying that Marvel finds a way to revisit the timeline where Godzilla and Hulk live in the same world and consider each other allies.

Marvel has published several Godzilla crossovers throughout 2025, with the King of Monsters receiving multiple upgrades. For instance, Godzilla has also absorbed Silver Surfer's power cosmic and become the latest host of Spider-Man's Venom symbiote.

1 Timeless' Power Man

The Combined Powers of the Hulk, Sentry and Iron Fist

Easily the most powerful Hulk in Marvel lore at the moment is the new Power Man, who more than lives up to his name. Introduced in 2023's Timeless #1 (by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and Juan Cabal), this new Luke Cage variant fully entered Marvel's main reality in 2025's Power Man: Timeless. This version of Luke Cage is from a distant future where he is the last superhero in existence, having inherited the powers of Iron Fist, the Sentry and the Hulk.

This has created a cosmic hero who can harness chi, warp reality and Hulk-out, adding gamma power to his already unfathomable might. It's not all good news, however - like the original Sentry, Luke Cage has an alternate form as the Void, granting the twisted villain similar Hulk strength. When Power Man truly pushes his powers, he turns bright green, ensuring no-one forgets that while the Sentry's powers may allow him to sail through space, it's the Hulk's powers that give him the greatest right hook in the galaxy.

Hopefully, Marvel has lots more stories in store for these new Hulk-connected characters, as the power of gamma continues to spread, connecting some truly unexpected corners of the Marvel Universe.
