Everyone's a loser in Kendall's plan will be.
Turns out, Kendall's next move involves making an appearance at WayStar RoyCo just as the company's new president, Shiv, is about to give a speech at a town hall that is meant to assuage the bubbling anger about the slow implosion of the company. Kendall disrupts the press conference, angering Shiv and leading her to release an open letter that puts Kendall's dark past on full display. This seems to be a tipping point for the two Roy siblings - Kendall is due a tragedy while Shiv has compromised her values even more.
All of this happens while the FBI and DOJ finally come knocking, giving Logan no choice but to let them serve a search warrant. With so much happening, it's clear that Succession season 3 episode 3 has no winners - everyone comes out with new battle wounds. Kendall, heading towards BoJack Horseman-style tragedy, is visibly shaken by Shiv's letter and even though Connor and Roman refused to endorse it, it's still a major blow. With Kendall already showing signs of reckless behavior, it seems that Shiv may have just given him another reason to go dark.
Shiv's letter also makes it clear that the most idealistic Roy sibling has let her values be compromised by Logan and the promise of power. The Roy siblings have always maintained a level of decorum with each other even while they battled it out for their father's affection. It seems that Shiv Roy has finally ed the point of no return, though. Where she goes from here remains unclear, but now that she's fully tethered to her father, she may be going down with the ship.
Logan, who ended season 3 episode 2 as a winner, takes another major hit this season when he is finally forced to cooperate with the DOJ. At this point, it's unlikely that the authorities find anything in the WayStar RoyCo offices, but letting them in in the first place is a sign of weakness, one that the former CEO has been desperately trying to avoid.
The Roy family civil war is as twisty and contentious as ever. While Roman and the rest of the family were left out of the major power moves in this episode, no one really came out clean. By not g the letter, Connor and Roman at least maintained some semblance of decency. Still, Roman is tethered to Gerri, and Connor remains nothing more than a pawn. Succession season 3 episode 3 ultimately ended with all losers - the main power players (Logan, Kendall, and Shiv) are all in precarious positions while everyone else around them scrambles to keep up.
