New Suicide Squad concept art released by David Ayer teases Enchantress's world-ending machine utilizing Apokolitian technology. The 2016 team-up of DC movie villains saw a largely unfavorable reception upon its release, despite emerging as a major box office success. However, more and more has come to light about how much it diverged from what Ayer had initially conceived it to be.
The similar negative reception to Harley Quinn's centralized role in the story. On top of that, an even more deleterious impact was made on Jared Leto's Joker, whose role was dramatically reduced as a result of the last-minute reworking of the movie.

Back in December, Ayer revealed that a Boom Tube was originally planned for inclusion in the movie's final battle, with Enchantress having been under the influence of a Mother Box. Ayer also commented that the elements pertaining to Apokolips were excised from the film, so it can't be said with certainty if the movie's Apokolips-related story points were actually filmed. Nevertheless, it does demonstrate a clear plan on the part of Ayer and Snyder for aspects of the former's movie to feed into Justice League.
This can also be seen with Ayer's previous reveal of Parademon designs intended for the movie. Though they are quite different from the look of the Parademons in Justice League, they offer further evidence of Ayer and Snyder's versions of their respective movies being more closely linked than their theatrical counterparts. Adding these to the ties between the two that did make it into the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad, such as The Flash's cameo and Bruce Wayne obtaining metahuman files from Amanda Waller in the movie's end-credits scene, and a clear picture emerges of a very direct connection being planned between Suicide Squad and Justice League.
The past few months have seen Ayer begin to unveil more and more about the Suicide Squad Ayer Cut, including offering new looks at Harley Quinn and other characters. Calls for the Justice League Snyder Cut continue to be made, and it's becoming evident that David Ayer's cut of Suicide Squad is possibly just as different from the version seen in theaters as is the case for Snyder's movie. However, what may be even more significant is how much of a symbiotic relationship the two were intended to share, as well.
