Deadpool. Ayer had a very different vision for Suicide Squad, and it clashed with what Warner Bros. wanted.
Following the recent success of the Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) was an accomplice to the murder of Robin. However, that created a plot hole with Ayer's version of events, as he never envisioned her as having a hand in that. Ayer has confirmed he does have his own cut of the film, and that it wouldn't be difficult for him to complete, should the opportunity arise.
Ayer has revealed another Warner Bros. addition, and it's one of Suicide Squad's weaker moments. At the end of the film, the remaining of the titular squad are granted special privileges as a result of saving the world. Killer Croc's request was simple, if disappointing: He wanted BET in his cell. Considering how little time in Suicide Squad was devoted to Killer Croc's development, this final moment just felt like another let down. When a fan brought it up to Ayer on social media, Ayer merely said, "That wasn't my line."
It sounds like a lot of characters suffered from the Harley a more fulfilling arc. That's only scratching the surface of the changes Ayer has revealed, leaving many to wonder what else would be different in Ayer's cut. At one point, Ayer said he only won one fight with Warner Bros., and it pertained to Diablo's backstory.
Now that the Snyder Cut campaign has ended, something similar has begun for the supposed Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad. While Ayer initially didn't appear enthusiastic about the prospect of an Ayer Cut release, he seems to have changed his tune with every new detail he shares with fans. So far, Warner Bros. hasn't indicated they intend to release the Ayer Cut, but as was shown with the Snyder Cut, things can change.
