David Ayer reveals his unused While was a box office success, earning $746.8 million worldwide against a budget of just $175 million, it wasn't received by the public the way Warner Bros. wanted it.

Other than the allusion to the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice where the Man of Steel was perceived by some as a threat to Earth, as well as the Batman flashback scene, Suicide Squad's story stood on its own. It focused on a new crop of characters going on their own mission. It wasn't clear how it's going to better connect to the bigger DCEU world which was what Warner Bros.' main plan was at that point. However, brand new information reveals that Parademons was supposed to debut in Ayer's film first before making an appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League the next year.

A fan asked Ayer on Twitter if his found images for Suicide Squad's was supposed to be for Enchantress' (Cara Delevigne) henchmen. The filmmaker promptly answered the query, denying the assumption. Instead, he shared that those were concept art for his Parademons. Ayer also unveiled a new image of the 3D printed mock-up of his version which gives fans a better look at the character's intricate design. Check out his tweet below:

Thanking the director for his clarification, fans commented on the thread, most of them digging Ayer's scrapped Parademon design. The new Suicide Squad tidbit also prompted some of them to express their longing for the original DCEU. After it's not going to be a direct sequel.

ittedly, Ayer's Paredemon design is quite different from what was in Justice League. It's more intricate and less mechanical-looking. It's also objectively more terrifying. Last month, the filmmaker already revealed that his Suicide Squad almost featured a Boom Tube, with the Enchantress supposedly possessed by a Mother Box. This would've directly tied the two movies together and help Warner Bros. solidify DCEU's interconnectivity. Ayer didn't mention Parademons appearing in the villain-centric movie, but it's safe to assume that their involvement will also have something to do with this particular narrative thread.
