All Three Actors Have Played Lead Roles On Television
The Suits L.A. cast seems to be stacking the deck in the hope of making a full season a reality. All three of the incoming actors have held major television roles that will help bring legitimacy to the pilot. This includes singer Victoria Justice, who played the title role of Tori Vega on the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious, which followed a 47-episode stint as Lola Martinez opposite Jamie Lynn Spears on Zoey 101. She has also had a recent onscreen resurgence in a variety of movies including The Tutor and the Netflix originals Afterlife of the Party and A Perfect Pairing.
John Amos' most prominent lead role came much earlier when he played James Evans, Sr. on the first three seasons of the iconic 1970s sitcom Good Times. He was later cemented as an icon of the era when he played the older Kunta Kinte in the miniseries Roots in 1977. Since the end of the 1970s, he has appeared in a variety of movie and television titles including The West Wing, The Righteous Gemstones, Me Time, Coming 2 America, and Die Hard 2.
Good Times, which followed a family living in a housing project in Chicago, was recently rebooted as an adult animated series on Netflix.
Weisman's most prominent lead role came when he played Marshall Flinkman opposite Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow in all five seasons of the early 2000s thriller series Alias. Since then, some of his most prominent roles have included Kives in Hello Ladies, Ray Spiewack in Scorpion, and Dale Yorkes in Runaways. Given their long resumes, seeing all three stars interacting with the lead Suits L.A. characters will likely imbue the show with a feeling of genuine Los Angeles showbiz glamour.
