Technically, Suits was a legal drama, but that didn't mean it was devoid of humor. Korsh leaned towards sharp and witty banter for this, hence why it was so entertaining to see its characters interact. The back-and-forth between Harvey Specter and Mike Ross was great, but while they were Pearson, Hardman's top lawyers, the rest of the core cast could also engage them in quick verbal sparring. However, another layer of humor for Suits came from Louis Litt, who was usually the butt of the show's many jokes.
Given this, it's curious if Lane's character is partly inspired by Louis, assuming that his brand of comedy is the same as McDermitt's character.
