The summer season is usually a dry one for video game releases, with the bulk of new titles being saved for the colder months when people are more inclined to stay at home playing games. The importance of the holiday season to the gaming industry also means that the biggest titles are saved for the autumn and winter months.
There are some developers who use the dry spell of new releases to their advantage and will release a game in a marketplace that has less competition. 2019 will be no exception, as there a lot of great titles due for release that can be enjoyed by those with a desire to hide from the sun's harmful rays.
The 2019 summer season has a lot of new releases spread across all the systems (except for the dearly departed PlayStation Vita), so we have narrowed down the list to twenty titles from the May to September release window that gamers should check out.
