Unlike the other Stuff Packs, which only contain Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack comes with a host of new mechanics, including the new Medium skill, séance tables, and the ability to transform any lot into a haunted house. While not every spirit a player encounters in this Pack will be friendly, fans of The Sims and The Sims 3 will likely be happy to find at least one friendly face among the mischievous specters. The famous skeleton maid Bonehilda makes a return in The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff, but, unlike in previous games, Sims will need to become proficient at communing with spirits from the Beyond to welcome her into their homes.
In The Sims and The Sims 3, Bonehilda would emerge from her iconic coffin on the Sim's prompting. In The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff, a Sim's ability to summon Bonehilda hinges on improving their Medium skill. Once in the player's home, Bonehilda can fix objects other spirits break, clean and cook for the Sim, babysit a Sim's children, and even listen to the Sim's problems. She is also good to have around to protect the Sim and their family from the less friendly spirits who enter the home. Here's how to summon Bonehilda in The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack.
How to Summon Bonehilda in The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff
Before being able to summon Bonehilda, players will need to purchase a séance table. This can be found in Buy Mode under Surfaces. Players will want to make sure they choose the right one, as the pack also comes with a dining table that looks very similar and comes in more colors. The table must be placed somewhere on the Sim's lot and remain there, as this is how players will be able to summon Bonehilda later. Players will also need to place at least one dining-style chair at the table for the Sim to be able to use the séance table.
Players will need to level up their Sim's Medium skill to Level 3. Because Medium is considered a minor skill, there are only 5 levels, and it should not be too difficult for players to reach these. The easiest way for a Sim to improve their Medium skill is by performing any of the available interactions with the séance table. This goes very quickly if the Sim is a spellcaster or in a good mood. Players should note that interacting with spirits will not add to their Medium skill.
Alternatively, players can use a cheat to reach their desired Medium skill level and invite Bonehilda into their home. Players can open console commands and input stats.set_skill_level Minor_Medium 3. The number in this code corresponds to the desired skill level. Players can input 5 to unlock all available Medium skill interactions if preferred. At level 5, players will no longer need to keep the séance table and can draw a chalk séance circle on the ground whenever they want to commune with the dead or summon Bonehilda. They can also summon Bonehilda on other lots, including bars and clubs for a night on the town.
Once the Sim has the proper Medium skill level, they can use the séance table to summon Bonehilda to their home. She will stay for 12 in-game hours at a time, but Sims can summon her as often as they want. She will do any of the following:
- Cook or provide quick meals
- Clean dishes
- Mop puddles
- Take out trash and pick up knocked-over trash cans
- Fix broken plumbing or appliances
- Tend to babies
- Help toddlers with needs and help them build skills
- Help children and teens do homework
- Put away toys if there is a special box on the lot for them
- Fight Temperance
The only things Bonehilda won't be able to do are gardening activities, opening the door to guests, and cleaning or removing cursed objects from the lot.
Players won't be able to add Bonehilda to their household or control her activities without using cheats, but they can talk to her to befriend or even romance her. They can even WooHoo with her. Players can use cheats to try for a baby with her as well if players want.
The Sims 4 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
