The wait for more ARMS.

The second Fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was originally meant to have all of its characters available by the end of 2021, but there are doubts regarding this schedule. Director Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that the  Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters have been delayed by COVID-19, and it's unclear exactly when all of the fighters will be released. Given the circumstances, it's easy to forgive Sakurai and his team for pushing the release of the DLC back.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate development team has been working hard behind the scenes, as the game recently received new stage and music options. The team is also ready to show off the next character who is coming to the game. According to the official Nintendo of America Twitter page, the next DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be revealed on October 1 at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET. The presentation will be three minutes long and will be followed by a short message from series creator Masahiro Sakurai.

Given the short length of the presentation, it's likely that it will just feature a character reveal and a release date. In the past, Masahiro Sakurai has done extended gameplay presentations for characters that are almost ready to be released. As such, the fans shouldn't expect a character to be shadow-dropped tomorrow. Given the production issues caused by COVID-19, it's doubtful that we will see a CGI trailer either.

There have been a number of leaks regarding the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, and it's difficult to know what to believe. The most Nintendo franchises (Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Min-Min from ARMS), so the time is right for a third-party fighter to come to the game. Crash Bandicoot would certainly be a popular choice, but the Dante, Geno, and Sora fans around the world can also be filled with hope for another twenty-four hours.
