Sora is finally live in Sora's arrival in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate official earlier in October.

Although Sora has fought alongside many iconic Disney characters throughout the long-running Kingdom Hearts series, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hasn't inherited any Disney references more overt than the Mickey Mouse-shaped keychain hanging from the fighter's signature Keyblade. The likes of Donald Duck and Goofy won't appear in Smash Bros. for presumptive copyright reasons, as the likenesses of Disney characters are completely absent from Sora's dedicated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, plenty of Sora’s non-Disney-associated friends came with him as Spirits in the latest (and possibly final) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update.

Sora’s long-awaited arrival in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a bittersweet moment, as he is set to be the final guest character being released for Nintendo’s expansive crossover platform fighter. Shortly after Sora was revealed last month, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai thanked players and developers for their in a heartfelt farewell video. The series and Kirby creator has been previously rumored to be prepared for retirement from game development now that work is done on the title he's worked on for the past three years. However, this hasn’t been hinted at or confirmed from Sakurai himself since his final Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation.

It has been a long and exciting three years for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with the internet anxiously looking forward to every new guest character reveal and making wild guesses about which gaming icon would be the next to step into the arena alongside the likes of Mario, Kirby, and Pikachu. With Kingdom Hearts’ Sora finally ing the fight, that era is coming to an end, but the fun is only beginning for players adding him to their roster as part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's 13.0.0 update.
