In the cafeteria, when Evan presses Seth about his inexplicable dislike of Becca, Seth explains his history of drawing phallic imagery. As a kid, he spent all day, everyday drawing penises. He explains, “Something like 8% of kids do it, but whatever.”

Becca found his drawings, told the principal, and he was sent to a therapist, who subjected him to phallic Rorschach tests, and he was banned from eating penis-shaped foods, like hot dogs and popsicles.

The first meeting between Fogell and the two cops he ends up partying with is really tense. They ask to see his ID and the kid, who was close to tears just at the thought of giving his fake ID to a liquor store clerk, now has to hand it over to two cops.

However, the tension of the scene is dropped hysterically when Slater simply cracks, “You’re an organ donor!” This scene marks the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

When Becca asks Evan what he got up to over the weekend, we see a flashback to Evan enjoying a night of painting the town red with Seth and Fogell.

They watched porn, got wasted at a party filled with sensible old people, and then stormed into a strip club before being promptly ejected. Outside the club, Fogell threw up on Seth’s t-shirt.

Every friendship group has that one friend who is mercilessly mocked by the others. In Superbad’s trifecta of Seth, Evan, and Fogell, that person is Fogell.

When he comes out of the store where he works, ready for the party, Seth and Evan are horrified by his ugly goldenrod vest. Among other insults, Seth says he looks like Pinocchio and Evan says he looks like Aladdin.

In the opening scenes of Superbad, we’re introduced to Seth and Evan’s relationship as they complain about school, discuss pornography, and make fun of each other’s parents.

Then, Seth is verbally abused by a bully, who spits on him. He tells Evan that he “b*tched out” and Evan asks, “What’d you want me to do? Dive in front of his spit?”

On two separate occasions throughout Superbad, Seth gets hit by a car. The first time, he’s run down by a creepy loser played by Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Joe Lo Truglio, who plays the scene hysterically: “I didn’t even effing see you at all, man!”

He offers to drive them to a party where they can get some booze and avoid the cops. Along the way, he awkwardly asks if they’re on Myspace, and when they get to the party, it’s a very different vibe than he promised.

Going into the liquor store to use his fake ID for the first time, Fogell is terrified. He goes to the back of the store, grabs a six-pack of beer, and accidentally drops the whole thing on the floor.

A miserable clerk, played hilariously by a deadpan Joe Nunez, comes over. Fogell denies dropping the beers and tells the clerk to clean it up. Fogell walks off and the clerk sighs, “F*ck my life.”

Seth’s Rant At His Home-Ec Teacher

In an early scene in Superbad, Seth lays into his home-ec teacher, because his partner is never around and he doesn’t think he’s learning anything valuable from her class. Throughout his rant, he swears a couple of times and briefly apologizes.

At the end of his rant, he sums up perfectly the pointlessness of a lot of the education system: “When am I gonna need to cook tiramisu? Am I gonna be a chef? No!”

The second time Seth gets hit by a car, it’s when Officer Slater takes his eyes off the road in the middle of a flashlight fight with Officer Michaels.

In order to pin the situation on Seth and Evan, Slater goes into “bad cop” mode, pulls his gun on them, and starts yelling at them: “Spread your sh*t! Get on the ground! Loaded gun! Ready to go! Spread your sh*t!”

Fogell Shows His Fake ID To Seth And Evan

When Fogell brags about getting a fake ID and Jules mentions she can’t get any booze for her party, Seth puts two and two together and concocts a plan to land an invitation to the party by promising to get the drinks.

The plan hinges on Fogell’s fake ID being able, so when he first shows it to them and they see that it has one name, “McLovin” and that he’s 25 years old, they’re furious. The scene has an improvisational energy, as Seth and Evan barb Fogell about his choice of name.
