Warning! Spoilers ahead for Suicide Squad #3

In the latest issue of DC Comics' Superboy is going to be caught right in the middle. Despite his traditional status as a hero and former Teen Titan himself, this new series has seen Conner Kent's Superboy forced onto the latest iteration of the Suicide Squad against his will. It's all thanks to Director Amanda Waller, who has big plans for the clone of Superman and Lex Luthor. However, Conner has been resisting orders when he can, and the Sqaud's latest mission does nothing to make falling in line any easier.

Thus far in DC's new Suicide Squad series from writer Robbie Thompson and artist Eduardo Pansica, it's been revealed that Amanda Waller's current plans are darker than ever, so dark in fact that she has imprisoned her longtime partner Rick Flag, who had tried to defy her. While some of the details could be different, it certainly looks as though Waller is planning to create her Justice Squad seen in the world's new Superman.

However, the future is not set in stone, and any number of things could happen to create a deviant path from Future State. That being said, Waller looks to be forming her new team all the same, and she's set her sights on the young speedster known as Bolt. Waller and Bolt have a history, despite her being a new student at the Teen Titans Academy (she's also a part of Waller's Future State team). However, Superboy has still been displaying resistance to Waller's orders, wanting to still be the hero he once was rather than being treated like a criminal under her control. While the Squad is in position to bring in Bolt, Superboy tells her to run moments before the rest of his team attacks, giving her just enough time to escape back to the academy. However, Waller sees all, which includes Superboy's covert warning.

Despite Bolt seemingly making it to safety with her fellow Titans, keep him in line using kryptonite.

However it all goes down between the Suicide Squad and the Teen Titans, Superboy is most likely going to be right at its center, which is clearly the last place he wants to be. While the potential future of the DC Universe sees Conner having been broken and becoming the leader of Waller's Justice Squad, there's still time in the present for him to resist and fight back. Perhaps Superboy can get help from Titans themselves? Fans will just have to wait and see in future issues of Suicide Squad and Teen Titans Academy.
