Warning! Spoilers ahead for Superior Avengers #2!
Marvel just gave readers a glimpse of iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe antagonist Bullseye's most intense upgrade ever, as one potential future version of the villain is depicted wearing souped-up armor and laden with weapons, in a look more reminiscent of Iron Man ally War Machine than the notorious Daredevil villain's traditional costume.
Superior Avengers #2, written by Steve Foxe, with art by Kyle Hotz and Luca Maresca, features the futuristic Bullseye in a blink-and-miss it cameo, as he appears in just a select few s, yet for all the action and surprises packed into the issue, this intense update for the character is one of the stand-out bits of lore readers have responded to.
Already, there have been calls among Marvel fans for more of this version of Bullseye, and though he might remain a throwaway for now, it is never say never when it comes to Marvel's fractal Multiverse.
"War Machine Bullseye" Debuts In Marvel Lore, But Will Readers See More Of The Character?
Superior Avengers #2, Written By Steve Foxe; Art By Kyle Hotz And Luca Maresca; Available Now From Marvel Comics
Superior Avengers #2 expands on the identity of its team, who are revealed to have killed Doctor Doom in the future, and subsequently, have come back to the past to end his reign before it even gets that far. During the action of the issue's flashback/flashforward, "War Machine Bullseye" makes his brief appearance, seemingly as a Doom loyalist, caught off-guard by the team's betrayal, during the chaotic battle sequence in which future Doom is defeated by the Superior Avengers' version of Killmonger.

If You Think the MCU's Daredevil Is Brutal, Well - You Haven't Seen Anything Yet
Daredevil: Born Again may push the title character's brutality, but one story from the comics is even darker than anything shown on TV.
It is unclear what ultimately became of this version of Bullseye, or whether this is the original incarnation of the villain under the armor. Nevertheless, it is a fitting upgrade for Bullseye, and one that would make him a more frightful adversary than ever, either for Daredevil, or Iron Man, or any Marvel hero. At present, it seems likely that this brief appearance was meant to add detail to the dark future glimpsed in Superior Avengers #2, but that doesn’t mean the design couldn’t be used again in the future.
Marvel Fans Want More Of Stand-Out MCU Antagonist Bullseye's Intense Comic Upgrade
Superior Avengers #2 Only Teases "War Machine Bullseye"
In addition to a long, infamous history in Marvel Comics, Bullseye is highly regarded among the pantheon of MCU antagonists, for his role in the Daredevil Netflix series, and its follow-up, Daredevil: Born Again. Like any character with nearly fifty years of lore to their name, Bullseye has undergone his share of reinventions and reinterpretations over the years; his look has been redesigned, his personality has changed, and his powers have been upgraded, at various points, according to the needs to different stories in which he served as a foe.
Bullseye is well-known as a highly dangerous character, and giving him nearly-impenetrable armor, plus even bigger and badder weapons than he customarily wields, are all enhancements that readers would be eager to see put to the test.
The “War Machine Bullseye” look in Superior Avengers #2 is evocative to fans because it is an extreme level up for the character, but also one that would be fitting for him. Bullseye is well-known as a highly dangerous character, and giving him nearly-impenetrable armor, plus even bigger and badder weapons than he customarily wields, are all enhancements that readers would be eager to see put to the test, a chance this issue doesn’t give the character, leaving that to a potential future appearance.

The Well-Received Design Deserves More Attention
It is one of the great things about comics that it only takes a few s to introduce an exciting new idea, or character design, into Marvel lore, and Bullseye's appearance in Superior Avengers #2 certainly holds to the classic show business adage of "always leave them wanting more." It remains to be determined if this character will return in the remaining course of the series, or pop elsewhere in the future, but at the very least, now the possibility of such an upgrade has been established for this fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe villain.
Superior Avengers #2 is available now from Marvel Comics.
