Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch reveal which unmade Superman & Lois season 4's ending also had to wrap up multiple plotlines sooner than expected and provide each character with an appropriate ending by the end of season 4.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier at the "BEING SUPER WITH THE CAST OF SUPERMAN & LOIS" at Fan Expo Philadelphia, Lois Lane actor Bitsie Tulloch mentions she liked the idea of an episode where Lois had superpowers and flew like Superman. Tulloch says the episode could have taken place around season seven or eight. Superman actor Tyler Hoechlin weighs in, saying he "would have given anything" to see such an episode materialized on screen. Read Tulloch and Hoechlin's comments below:
Bitsie Tulloch: "I wanted an episode - which I feel like we would've done if we had gotten the seven or eight seasons that we were told we were gonna do - where Lois had powers. Then I could do my little flying thing. I'd like to get on the wires and fly just once."
Tyler Hoechlin: "I would have given anything to see that episode."
What Bitsie Tulloch And Tyler Hoechlin's Comments Mean For Superman & Lois
Lois Lane's Superpowers Have A Basis In The Comics
Superman & Lois never got to set up Lois Lane's superpowers, but subsequent seasons would have likely dropped a few hints at the possibility. While Bitsie Tulloch's Lois Lane getting her own powers sounds a little far-fetched, it actually has roots in the source material. In DC Comics, Lois Lane has gained superhuman abilities several times throughout the years. Lois has been a Blue Lantern, Wonder Woman, the Eradicator, and Superwoman (multiple times). Most recently, Lois Lane gained the powers of a Kryptonian from Amanda Waller following the events of Absolute Power.

I’m Still Waiting For DC To Give 1 Superman Show A Proper Ending 28 Years After Its Final Cliffhanger
Decades later, many of us still await the conclusion to a cliffhanger reveal from a popular Superman television series that was canceled prematurely.
Bitsie Tulloch's has been one of the Lois Lane iterations with the closest connection to Superman. Clark and Lois were inseparable for four seasons, staying together through all kinds of threats, superhuman or not. With enough time and development, a superpowered Lois Lane could have been a valuable ally in Superman's battles. No live-action Superman movie or show has depicted Superman and Lois as a superhero couple. Besides the novelty of the concept, Superman & Lois would have been the best show to introduce this dynamic.
Our Take On Bitsie Tulloch And Tyler Hoechlin's Lois Lane Comments
Superman & Lois Ending Before Lois Lane Got Superpowers Might Have Been For The Best
Bitsie Tulloch's idea for Lois Lane's superpowers sounds interesting, but it could have been too much for Superman & Lois. Usually, long-running TV shows reach a point where new twists cross the line and reduce the story's credibility. DC TV series like Smallville and The Flash took unexpected turns that weren't so well-received by fans and casual viewers. Had Superman & Lois received three more seasons, Lois Lane's superpower subplot might not have been as exciting as it sounds. Superman & Lois' early cancelation may be disappointing, but it also helped the show's story remain tight.
