Warning: Minor SPOILERS for Superman #17

Now the first look at Superman giving Supergirl the news can be found below, courtesy of The Washington Post. It appears to be the final page of Superman #17, so the full scene and resolution will have to wait until the revealing issue itself. But in case anyone was concerned Clark wasn't taking this seriously enough, the pained expression should clear things up:

Along with this look at Superman preparing Supergirl for such a massive twist (basically outing her as Clark Kent's cousin, too) comes yet another reassurance from Bendis that Clark Kent's days aren't over. Yes, his working life is going to get a lot more complicated. But as Bendis explains, DC was on board with this colossal shift in the Superman status quo:

I get why people would immediately think... that Clark Kent just goes away. Clark is a huge part of who [Superman] is. It’s who he grew up as. He’s not giving it up. He’s sharing it with people... I have to be careful with my wording, but, you know, this is Warner Bros., and they don’t do things willy-nilly and this was approved. They said, ‘Go for it. We see what you’re doing. We get it.’ It takes [Superman] into a place we would like to take him.
