It's no question that DC One Million introduces readers to the ultimate version of this hero: Superman Prime of the 853rd century. In this form, it seems no threat in the Multiverse could be great enough to take him on.

Readers are exposed to this character following his stay of 15,000 years at the center of the Earth's sun. It seemed he planned to stay at the Fortress of Solitude within the sun indefinitely, however, he eventually does emerge once Solaris unwittingly sends the Green Lantern ring his way. He returns to Earth, appearing to be the same Superman fans know and love, though before long it's revealed that his powers have increased immensely - but why?

Superman Prime has all the capabilities of the original Superman that readers know and love, but with an added bonus. Kryptonians, who are used to living under a red sun, possess extraordinary powers when exposed to Earth's yellow sun. In this case, Superman's body acted as a battery while he supercharged within the sun's core, bringing his ultimate form to life. Because of the excess energy (not to mention a strength increase brought upon by equipping the Green Lantern ring), Superman Prime's power appears to have no limit. His time spent within the sun may have made him the strongest hero ever seen.

Readers can see his supreme status not only by looking at his individual displays of power, but in his descendants as well. Superman Prime chose to down very limited amounts of his power to those he deemed worthy. This allowed anyone on the receiving end to obtain abilities far beyond the ability-level of anyone else in the DC universe. If just the smallest amount is enough to supercharge another hero, what immense basin of strength lays within Superman Prime, as he has spent thousands of years unwittingly increasing his power?

With his newfound power, Superman Prime does not hesitate in showing this futuristic Earth what he is capable of. He even uses a DNA sample to resurrect Lois Lane, as her death played a large part in his retreat to the sun in the first place. On an even larger scale, he creates a new world from a fragment of his home planet of Krypton. This beautiful amalgamation of resurrection brings closure to a storyline in which this hero had to lose everything, only to gain it back by transforming into the greatest version of himself. Though he may not find himself in a constant series of battles, Superman Prime leaves no doubt as to the unprecedented strength of his ultimate form in DC One Million.
