The Suicide Squad may be DC Comics' signature group of ragtag villains reluctantly fighting for good, but Amanda Waller's crew have nothing on the young group of heroes waging war with Superman under Lex Luthor's control, The Revolutionaries.
The son of Kal-El, Jon Kent, has found himself in a tight spot as of late. brought Batman out of the shadows, with him warning Jon to keep Jay at a distance. The true force behind their destruction, however, is much more nefarious than Superman can imagine.
In Superman: Son of Kal-El #11, by Tom Taylor and Cian Tormey, Jon discovers that Inferno, along with the rest of The Revolutionaries, has a bomb implanted in his brain, courtesy of President Bendix. Like the bombs implanted in the necks of Suicide Squad , they can be remotely detonated at any time, but have an additional sadistic feature: the bombs also allow Bendix to take complete control of them, making them his personal, super-powered weapons. While Superman was able to remove the device from Inferno's head (with some very precise nano surgery in the stratosphere), it served as a display of just how dangerous The Revolutionaries are.
This reverse Suicide Squad, especially The Revolutionaries might be the most dangerous force on the planet.
Superman has finally figured out Bendix's secret method of controlling them, so it's only a matter of time before Jon comes head-to-head with the mad President. Bendix, however, has made his intentions clear: He's using The Revolutionaries to kill the Justice League. When Superman and company come to blows with President Bendix, Lex Luthor and DC's new reverse Suicide Squad, there's no telling how much destruction will be left behind.
