Krypto, just suffered a tragic death. Though Krypto is a fan-favorite character, the Dog of Steel has a habit of drifting in and out of continuity. Unfortunately, just Krypto has risen to some prominence recently, he may have been killed in Supergirl's new series.

Supergirl's latest adventure has seen her meet a young alien ally named Ruthye on an unknown planet. Kara had traveled there to celebrate her twenty-first birthday in style, by getting completely wasted. Being a Kryptonian, Supergirl is unable to get drunk under Earth's yellow sun. Therefore, Supergirl goes to a nearby planet in another system with a red sun. However, it's here that she runs into big trouble. Ruthye is out to kill the murderous kingsman Krem, who finds her as he receives word about the bounty on his head. Shot by an arrow in the chest, Supergirl begins to heavily bleed, thanks to the red sun. The reason for her getting shot instead of Ruthye is because Krem thinks she has been hired to kill him. Although Supergirl hasn't accepted Ruthye's proposal yet, she's bound to agree after the shocking events that end this issue.
