Summary
- Dean Winchester's quotes in Supernatural showcase his fearless and witty persona, even in the face of danger and uncertainty.
- Memorable moments like meeting Scooby Doo and joking about being Batman add depth to Dean's character in the series.
- Dean's iconic lines, like "Driver picks the music" and "I think I'm adorable," have become beloved pop culture references from Supernatural.
In Supernatural, the show lived and died by the charismatic and likable leads, and there are several Dean Winchester quotes explaining why fans fell in love with him over the show's 15 seasons. While Sam was always uneasy about doing things, Dean was always ready to rush into any situation, and he normally showed up with a clever one-liner or a great quote that let people know he wasn't scared — or it at least helped him cover up the fact that he might be scared of what is waiting in the unknown.
Dean Winchester might not have made it out of the finale alive, but he ensured that no one forgot about him. The best Dean Winchester quotes occur in almost every instance. He will talk to a monster, demon, or human villain as much as he fights them. Dean has flippant quotes when the police arrest him, and he has even delivered some poignant quotes when he is on the verge of death. However, the best Dean Winchester quotes on Supernatural happen mostly with his brother, who he rode with for 15 seasons before the series ended.

Supernatural: Sam's 10 Funniest Quotes
Sam has some hilarious quotes, especially during abnormal situations such as being stuck in a time loop, being soulless, or cursed.
10 "That's Fake Me. This Must Be Fake Mine"
Season 6, Episode 15 - "The French Mistake"
"The French Mistake" is one of the most memorable Supernatural episodes. The Winchester brothers find themselves in an alternate universe where they are actors and their life is a TV show which means they were likely in the world of the audience. It's hilarious how appalled and horrified Dean is by Jensen Ackles, his alter-ego, including the fact he once starred in a soap opera.
Jensen Ackles starred on Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady from 1997 to 2000.
The fact that the show made fun of its actors in real life was noteworthy, because not many shows take the initiative to do something like this. These Dean Winchester quotes show that he certainly doesn't mind the trailer or money that came with the acting gig in his alternate life, even if it was acquired by the "fake" him. On the other hand, the fake Sam (Jared Padalecki) was so over-the-top arrogant that it made Ackles look chill in comparison.
9 "Ruh-Roh"
Season 9, Episode 5 - "Dog Dean Afternoon"
Supernatural embedded Scooby-Doo references in earlier seasons before the animated crossover. One such installment features Dean muttering Scooby Doo's iconic quote of "ruh-roh" after discovering a spell to allow him to speak to a dog (a witness in their case) works a little too well. The episode is funny, as Dean exhibits the typical and somewhat cliché characteristics of dogs (barking at the mail carrier, playing fetch, sticking his head out the car's window).
Dean Winchester met Scooby Doo in Season 13.
This allows Ackles to showcase his physical comedy chops, which is a place he excelled when given the change. Dean could also communicate with other animals, including a pigeon who mocked him after dropping feces on Dean's car. Fortunately, Dean wasn't permanently stuck in this situation since the spell eventually wore off. The fact that Dean uses a Scooby Doo quote makes sense, as he later showed that he was one of Scooby's biggest fans.
8 "I Think You Pissed Off My Sandwich"
Season 7, Episode 9 - "How To Win Friends And Influence Monsters"
In Season 7, a restaurant chain starts serving sandwiches that make its consumers act intoxicated. After someone eats them they are so out of it that almost nothing affects them. Dean is a big fan of the sandwich until he eats at a Biggerson's restaurant in Hammonton, New Jersey.
After eating this one, he begins acting differently until Sam takes his sandwich away. Dean protests until he sees the gray gunk leaking from it, which both disgusts and shocks him. Biggerson's is a restaurant chain that has appeared several times in the Supernatural series.
It debuted in the season 3 episode "Bad Day at Black Rock and they earned free food for a year, which was a big deal for Dean since he loved the sandwiches there so much. Dean later learns the Leviathans have taken over the restaurant chain, and the two stop eating there after they realize the demons are using it to subjugate and farm humanity for food. As for the line, it's the kind of thing that has always been a strength of Dean's as he can deliver a comedic line in a serious moment.

10 Supernatural Fan Theories That Are Too Good To Be True
Supernatural fans love coming up with wild theories - and some of them are so good we want them to be true.
7 "I'm Batman"
Season 3, Episode 3 - "Bad Day At Black Rock"
Dean Winchester has a lot in common with Batman. He has his own cool car in Baby, has a sidekick in his younger brother Sam, and fights all kinds of demons and monsters on a regular basis. In the episode, "Bad Day at Black Rock," Dean finally gets a chance to use the Caped Crusader's catchphrase as well. He comes across a brief streak of good luck, manages to toss a pen right into the muzzle of a gun and even knocks out someone without laying a hand on them.
Jensen Ackles voiced Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween
Dean's got no problem when it comes to self-esteem or confidence; he's already got a tendency to be cocky. His "Batman" moment in the episode is simply just another aspect of an ego boost for himself. Two bad guys have Sam tied up to a chair and are torturing him when Dean walks in behind them with a gun. When they ask who he is, Dean has a better chance to say this iconic line than he ever has before.
6 "Be Like Elsa. Let It Go"
Season 13, Episode 16 - "ScoobyNatural"
Dean is pop culture savvy, which is almost surprising for someone who seems to think about nothing but hunting monsters. However, it seems every other thing he says includes a reference to a movie, TV show, or cartoon. In "ScoobyNatural," Dean walks in and finds Sam still researching, with his nose buried in a book. Dean looks at his brother and tells Sam to knock it off with excessive research with a simple "let it go" and throwing in a reference to Frozen.
Either Dean's been keeping up with trending topics or he has seen the movie. Considering Dean isn't someone who spends much time on the computer, it's most likely the latter. What makes the quote even better is that Sam slowly turns to look at his brother and says, "Like Elsa." Dean just looks at him with a big smile on his face, clearly happy with the quote that he delivered to his brother.
5 "Pudding!"
Season 5, Episode 11 - "Sam, Interrupted"
There are plenty of memes and gifs out there featuring Dean shouting "Pudding." This moment derives from the episode, "Sam, Interrupted," in which Dean and Sam are hunting down a wraith inside a mental institution. When they are investigating in the morgue, a woman walks in and surprises them. The woman asks what they are doing in there. Sam is completely lost for words, so Dean's response is to pull down his pants, raise his arms, and yell, "Pudding."
This episode was named after the Winona Rider and Angelina Jolie movie Girl, Interrupted.
Dean's not one to shy away from getting the job done and his worked surprisingly well. However, with Dean being Dean, there's probably not much he couldn't get away with, and the look on the orderly's face was enough to show that Dean dropping his pants was appreciated and that his exclamation of "Pudding" was enough to at least humor her.

10 Times They Could Have Ended Supernatural
Over all that time, there have been a couple of Supernatural episodes that could easily have marked the end of the Winchester brothers.
4 "That Was Scary!"
Season 4, Episode 6 - "Yellow Fever"
In a Season 4 episode, Dean is infected with a ghost illness and gradually becomes more scared throughout the episode, which is the opposite of who he normally is. This episode produced one of his most memorable moments in which he screams at high volumes upon seeing a cat jump out of a locker that Sam had just opened.
He then finally calms himself down, and deep out of breath, says with a smile, "That was scary." This was a hilarious moment for people who had watched Dean as the hunter brother who would rush into danger without a care in the world.
Having him growing more and more scared as the episode wore on was unusual, but when he started screaming, it took it to another level. The screaming was the best part of this Dean Winchester quote, but his ission was just icing on the cake.
3 "Demons I Get. People Are Crazy"
Season 1, Episode 15 - "The Benders"
Dean has fought every kind of monster, angel, and demon in Supernatural. In "The Benders," human villains were the monsters of the week. Dean has a point; demons have an agenda, whereas people are simply more unpredictable when it comes to what they want and what they're willing to do to get it.
In the case of this episode, these people are having a fantasy like that of The Most Dangerous Game and have gone cannibal with their thrills coming from hunting other people. Sam is nearly one of their victims until Dean and a local sheriff save the day.
It seems that throughout Supernatural, there are several human villains that cause a lot of trouble for Dean and Sam, and they are usually people that cause the boys to stumble more often than not. When a demon is around, it has a purpose, but the people — and especially the ones in this episode — make almost no sense. They are not evil because of their nature, they are evil for reasons that Dean doesn't really understand.

15 Pop Culture References Created From Supernatural
Supernatural has become so much more than just a silly genre show, and these pop culture references will last for years to come.
2 "Driver Picks The Music. Shotgun Shuts His Cakehole"
Season 1, Episode 1 - "Pilot"
Dean is possessive of "Baby," his 1967 Chevrolet Impala. It's a rare moment to find Dean not behind the wheel, and he's got specific rules when it comes to his treasured car. That includes his initiative to reserve the right to have complete control over the radio and everything else thereof. Sam has to sit through hours and hours of Dean's classic rock music (something Dean even its can be annoying, considering he listens to many of the same albums repeatedly) due to this car rule.
This line has also become immortalized and integrated into pop culture, making it one of Dean's best-known lines. The line is also from the pilot, which is there to set up one of the show's most popular aspects — its soundtrack. Music plays a huge part in Supernatural from the beginning through the series finale. Sam mentions Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Metallica, which all provide key songs throughout the series. Without Dean's music choices, "Carry On Wayward Son" wouldn't have the impact it does in Supernatural.
1 "I Think I'm Adorable."
Season 2, Episode 19 - "Folsom Prison Blues"
Not much fazes Dean as it comes with the territory of being a hunter and being exposed to gore and horrors since he was a child. Being arrested doesn't even remotely faze Dean like it would most people. Instead, he's cocky, confident and self-assured. Considering it would take all that and more to escape prison successfully (which he does), it's a good thing Dean's equipped with all the necessities. He believes he is adorable, and these Dean Winchester quotes have also become a popular SPN pop culture reference.
Dean has said and done many things over the years, but these are some of his most memorable quotes. Dean is our hero and a role model in the way he gets back up every time he's been knocked down (and he's been knocked down a lot). Like Sam, Dean lives on for many years after this, and while he dies more than once, he always seems to come back stronger than ever. Sadly, his luck ran out after the boys finally helped bring down God, but Dean was self-assured until his final breath in the Supernatural finale.
