Dean and Castiel's relationship has had countless ups and downs since they first met on the show. They have waded through deception and mistrust to eventually emerge as friends. Dean learned early in his journeys to not trust anybody, and it took a long time for him to appreciate the angel.
This meme hilariously tunes to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" with Dean finding Castiel. It reflects on fans falling in love with the Dean and Castiel pairing and have shipped them since early seasons. For Castiel, having to rely on a human for anything was ridiculous, but he had no choice. When the friendship became more mutual, Dean introduced Castiel to a side of humanity he'd never experienced previously.

It took a good while for Castiel to respect any human's input but even longer to value Sam's advice, as the meme alludes to this notion. The affection that Castiel acquired for Dean did not transfer to Sam in the same way. Since Castiel had a bias toward Sam because of his ties with demons, it took mutual work and understanding before any friendly ground was made.
Throughout Castiel's character development, he grew accustomed to the principles of empathy and human reasoning. Understanding Sam and Dean's needs and opinions took major effort on Cass's part. It came more naturally as he became human himself in the Season 8 finale.

There are certain moments when fans unfailingly feel bad for Castiel. He experienced hardship and sacrifice just as the other characters did throughout the series and those in the pun-fueled meme. An example of this was his lack of connection with human emotion. Cass had never been introduced to social cues before and learned a lot from Bobby, Sam, and Dean.
Fans compare Castiel's character to the trials experienced in Les Miserables - a story full of neglect, war, and mistreatment. Cass was intrigued by the camaraderie and love that the Winchesters shared, something so different from his own experiences. Comparable to Jean Valjean, the more Castiel was around them, he found them endearing and had empathy towards them.

At first, Castiel is introduced as a fearless angel. Through character development and a lot of things going wrong, Cass becomes more relatable to viewers. At times, it's easier to say to have confidence than it is to show it. Through Castiel's moments of fear, he persevered and reliably stood as a fierce opponent against evil.
It is in the moments where Cass shows weakness that he becomes more human and relatable to viewers. For a huge amount of the show, the characters are consistently pushed out of their comfort zones as they fight an evil much greater than themselves. This evil is compared in the meme to a difficult exam that strips the confidence of the test taker from the beginning.
Souls Of Purgatory
In one of the craziest The Simpsons meme best illustrates Cass's involvement. Cass was able to throw the souls back into Purgatory but the Leviathans remained inside him.
Cass had come to a crossroads between what was right and what was power-hungry and evil. All of the evils that he had consumed influenced his thoughts and actions, causing him to be the villain. Through a serious character arc, Castiel made a turnaround when he denounced the selfish ways of angels and put his energy into finding God.

Castiel was privy to more information than the ordinary humans that he was surrounded by. From the start, he was burdened with knowledge and understanding of what must happen in order to prevent the apocalypse. Despite his endeavors to educate and enlist help, the helplessness of the situation eventually settled in which fans have experienced in their own ways.
It is shown through the characters in the show how a person's perspective and priorities change in a time of imminent danger. As the meme suggests, fans can relate to that same stress and disassociation that comes with life-altering news. During the apocalypse, Castiel remained completely loyal to heaven, and all of his efforts were to help restore balance on the Earth.
