Superstore is a hilarious comedy that fans adore as many have been watching throughout the entire five seasons. They love the cast and characters due to the witty dialogue and masterful storyline. Part of the joy of watching is that some of the characters are more intelligent than others, which is what makes their banter so much more interesting to see.

We have ranked the main characters in this series based on their intelligence by taking into their career, overall personality, and some of their mishaps on the show itself. A few were close calls, but some shined out above the rest. Keep reading to learn about the ranking of the Superstore employees by intelligence!

Cheyenne

Cheyenne smiling on Superstore

Cheyenne lacks more than a few brain cells, and this fact has come to light several times throughout the series. She works as a sales associate on the floor, and despite being there for multiple years, she still hasn't sought to improve her situation.

The things that come out of her mouth are not the brightest, as she often takes things too literally or fails to grasp the meaning behind something. Cheyenne is also married to Bo, who is remarkably even less intelligent than she is, but it only solidifies her spot at the bottom of this list.

Mateo

Mateo in Superstore.

Some may view Mateo as a more intellectual individual, but there are plenty of reasons why he should be close to the bottom. The first is that he is an illegal immigrant and after managing to stay in the country he still came back to the same store where he was caught in the first place.

We have also seen a multitude of his bad ideas like sabotaging his fellow workers and being chased by a forklift. The list goes on and on, and the fact that he is friends with Cheyenne, the lowest on the intelligence scale, solidifies his position in the ranking.

Sandra

Jerry and Sandra on Superstore

Sandra is always around to lend a helping hand and tries to find the best in everyone around her. This is great and all, but this doesn't make her an intelligent store employee.

Sandra struggles with social cues, like when some information is considered oversharing and whose authority she is supposed to follow. She does try to fight for the employees and help them achieve a better wage and benefits, but her actions are less than helpful in their meeting with corporate.

Justine

Justine in Superstore

Justine is a sales associate who has some brain cells, but not enough to propel her to the top of the list. She has a heart and is always ready with advice to help her friends, although her good intentions do not always lead to good ideas.

She tries desperately to fit in by saying she does some wild things in her free time, and no one believes it is the truth. We also watched her fail at an interview to be an assistant for Amy as she continued to spew nonsense that should never be uttered in the workplace.

Glenn

Glenn is only ranked this high because he was the store manager and only left the position after he became a father. He never really knows what is going on in the store, but his ability to order and bend to corporate's demands placed him higher on the list than expected.

He has a big heart that seeks to protect his friends, but for a manager, he lacks the backbone to dish out any real punishments. The employees understand his shortcomings, although they still take advantage of them when they have the chance.

Marcus

Marcus looking pensive in Superstore

Marcus is often viewed as the dumb guy who works in the loading docks, but he is actually quite the opposite. Marcus has made many smart decisions, like managing to obtain a raise way above what anyone else is paid and even living in the store to avoid high rents.

Marcus also aced Amy's assistant interview with flying colors, and when he learned the truth of Mateo's hiring he even used the opportunity to better himself. Some of the things that come out of his mouth aren't always intelligent, although, it could all be a ploy to have people avoid conversing with him.

Dina

Dina looking serious in Superstore.

Dina is the assistant manager of the store and has earned her position through hard work and a rough attitude. She never lets any nonsense be permitted in the store, which is why it is probably still in business, to begin with.

Dina is always on a hunt for the truth, although she often takes things too far like when she interrogates employees or makes criminals pay for a free seminar. She doesn't always make the best decisions, like when she paid someone to remove the radio from her truck, but she does manage to do her job well.

Jonah

Jonah became a sales associate after dropping out of a master's program, and he is not ranked at the top because he chose to stay in this low-paying job. He is often seen fighting for workers' rights in the store, although he never transfers this ion to a career that would better suit him.

He is quite intelligent, even though his first few weeks on the job were miserable, which is another reason he wasn't put higher in this list.

Garrett

Garrett is one of the more underrated characters on the show because he is extremely smart, but chooses to hide it. He understands that doing less will cause those around him to expect less from him.

It leaves him with the simple job of announcing over the loudspeaker and other small odd jobs, rather than working his way up to the manager he could be. He is often seen making jokes about the various employees and pulling ingenious pranks, but his lack of ambition is what keeps him out of the top spot.

Amy

Superstore Amy Sosa smiling in season 3

Amy is the all-star of the show as she manages to hold everything together. She worked her way up the totem pole as she went from floor supervisor to the manager of the entire operation. She does mess up, although, she always finds a way to fix her mistakes.

Amy finds a way to juggle work, home, children, and her relationships without losing her grip, which is more than any of us can attest to in our lives. She is the ultimate intelligent queen of the series and without her knowledge, the show would be nothing.
