With the release of Splatoon 3 called Squid Surge. Splatoon has gained critical acclaim since its release in 2015 and sold over 18 million copies across the series.
The main game mode of Splatoon, Turf War, consists of a team versus team match in which players must cover as much of the map in their team’s ink as possible. Players can use surfaces that have their ink to transform into a “swim” form, allowing them to climb surfaces, move faster and replenish their ink reserves. Meanwhile, moving through enemy-inked surfaces will slow players down, deal gradual damage to them, and prevent them from switching to the “swim” form. Turf Wars in Splatoon last around three minutes, at the end of which the team with the most percentage of the map covered in their ink will be declared the winner.
Players have access to multiple weapons that will provide different benefits and drawbacks. Chargers, for example, are very good at sniping enemies from a distance but terrible at painting surfaces. Meanwhile, Rollers are great for painting large areas but are limited to close-range combat. To be successful in the game, players will need to coordinate with their team to paint as much of the map as they can while at the same time preventing their enemy in Splatoon 3 from doing the same.
