Zack Snyder is incapable of subtlety of any kind, and 300 is the project where his natural tendencies actually meshed with the source material. Actively prejudiced in pretty much every way you can mention, it's nevertheless a visual feast of action and gore that blew the minds of high school boys the world over.

Muscle bound men tear each other apart for honor and glory. Love that everything is so embellished because it is a story being told about what happened. The framing device is great and the style was novel for the time which Zack Snyder creating something visually impressive. Love the action in this as well. Great movie.
