  • I have always really enjoyed the Ant-Man franchise and I was sorely disappointed with this. I consider this one of the worst movies in the MCU, with laughably bad special effects and CGI, jokes that fall flat, a boring villain, and a cast who seems like they don't want to be there.

  • The weakest of the Ant Man movies, and one of the weakest features in the entire MCU. As someone with a soft spot for both Ant Man movies proceeding this, it was heartbreaking to see this movie trade the grounded, family-oriented comedies and hijinks set among the regular folks of the MCU for rushed set-up of a now defunct plotline, robbing the series of its charm. Which is a shame, because many of this movie's elements were perfect for the scale of the earlier movies, like Darren coming back as Modok. Instead we got an unmemorable story that wastes a strong, now firmly loved cast.

  • More fun than it gets credit for, Ant-Man and the Wasp is sincerely interested in what makes its bad guys bad, and its answers are interesting. Sadly, it fails to create a world that feels real or interesting, and none of the actors bring anything like their A-game.

  • This movie is a total stinker for me. All the charm and awe of the inventive setpieces from the first two films are gone. The use of the volume feels obvious in this one. Nothing felt tangible and Paul Rudd seemed to be sleepwalking through this one. It's a shame since I love the character of Ant Man in the MCU.

  • The first time I watched Quantumania, I thought I really liked it. But then the more I thought about it, the more I really didn't. It's sad to see the Ant-Man franchise crash out so hard because the first two movies are really some hidden gems, but there's pretty much nothing about this film that's exciting. I'm putting off a rewatch so my opinion of it can't get worse, but it's not like there's anything really motivating me to rewatch it anyways.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a solid start to the MCU's Phase 5, working well to serve Scott Lang's story and introduce the menacing Kang.
