  • A wannabe Shaun of the Dead contender that never quite gets there. Caught between comedy and drama, it takes itself just a little too seriously to be funny, and core choices like the aliens' design are just a little too ironic to the drama. A few inches either way and it might have been great.

  • A fantastic exploration of class in the UK through the lens of an unconventional alien invasion sorry, Attack the Block is a brilliant showcase of up and coming stars like Whittaker and Boyega, who steal the show in a movie that is dripping with style, making the mundane setting of a block of UK flats seem like a daunting epic fortress in this base under siege story full of twists
