  • Tim Burton returns to his exciting take on Gotham, turning the entire city into a Gothic fairy tale. Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer are perfectly cast, with this campy, maudlin take on the Dark Knight showing the flexibility that has given the franchise such a long and varied life.

  • While Burton's original Batman is iconic and arguably the more carefully made movie, I believe Batman Returns is ahead of its time. Having successfully brought the character to screen, the director rolled on and added his flair to the mythos, going off comic canon yet creating a landscape that is so rich and vivid. With the perfect blend of German Expressionism and Superhero antics, it wouldn't be hard to imagine this marriage of the personal style and lore to have inspired other filmmakers in the genre that followed.

  • The follow-up to Batman did its justice. In addition to yet-again great Michael Keaton who never failed as a Batman [I loved how he framed Penguin during THAT speech], Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito stood out too. Shoutout to Danny DeVito for bringing to life a tragic villain and brave make-up. Duo Tim Burton and Danny Elfman are definitely masters in creating fantasy stories. My Batman Journey definitely will not slow down.

  • watching this film always brings back the best nostalgic memories from when I was a kid. One of my favourite films from childhood. Definitely the most creepiest and scariest Batman out there, mainly because of the way the villains are portrayed—Penguin (Danny DeVito), his circus companions, CatWoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), and even Max Shrek (Christopher Walken).
