  • This movie is just fine. It's definitely not something I'd rewatch by choice, but it is one of the stronger Disney live-action remakes. Emma Watson looked stunning as Belle but her vocal performance just fell flat. It seems like Disney really struggles with either making their live-action adaptations a frame by frame copy of the source material, or changing it up so much that the plot makes no sense anymore (Mulan).

  • Emma Watson definitely looks the part of Belle, but doesn't really have the singing chops to pull this one off convincingly. Still don't know why Disney insists on making these live-action remakes. I do know why. They made a lot of money at some point. Infinitely more boring than the iconic original.

  • This rating comes very much in the context of how this compares to the other Disney remakes. I thought this was much better than Cinderella, but still plays it safe making a fairly straight remake of the original. It would be nice if more of the Disney live-action remakes were to try something different. Still hope for ones like Moana and Snow White!

  • I know Disney Remakes are becoming exhaustive, but I personally really enjoyed this one. I felt like it did well to pay homage to the story and Emma Watson was possibly the best casting they could've chosen to play the role of Belle. That being said, even she could not bring this movie up to a 5-star rating. Live-action remakes just need to halt. I'm terrified to see what's coming for Lilo and Stitch.

  • A lot of the live-action Disney remakes unfortunately just don't land for me, and this is one example of that. This movie just felt bland and emotionless compared to the original, lacking the charm of the animated original.
