  • Easily one of the most rewatchable shows out there, as it never took itself too seriously, and poked fun at itself time and time again. The story of Jake and Amy's love story has always felt so natural and real that it's hard not to root for these characters. It's hard to really find a character who you didn't like (that the show didn't want you to like). The Halloween Heist episodes are legendary and those alone are worthy of yearly rewatches during spooky season.

  • Yes, its status as a cop show hurts its reputation, but I will always maintain that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best ensemble comedies out there. Every member of the team feels wholly realized, and they all play so well off each other, even when the usual dynamics are mixed up. Jake and Amy are perhaps the best-written sitcom couple of the modern era (sorry, Jim and Pam!), and it will always baffle me that the late, great Andre Braugher never won an Emmy for his perfect performance as Captain Holt.

  • While it's still copaganda, this is a truly funny sitcom with a brilliant cast. Every person here is a fully fleshed-out character, with comedic chops and dramatic moments that both work. The plots reflect how weird and wild New York City can be, and offers a nice dream of what the police force could look like.

  • This last season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, while fine, never quite reaches the dizzying heights of the early years. The old and new remain mixt up pretty well, making a big and appealing bundle, and the humors and hearts of the show remain solidified and strong. Holt keeps on being some sort of legend, an enigmatic genius, and it somehow all manages to wrap up with grace and humor in the series finale.

  • Brooklyn Nine Nine is a fantastic sitcom with all of the elements that make these kinds of shows so timeless. Well-written characters, humorous quips, and outlandishly funny plots all combine to create a wonderful show.

Synopsis

From the creative minds of Dan Goor and Michael Schur comes Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a police comedy series set in the NYPD's fictional 99th precinct. Headed by the comedically serious Captain Raymond Holt and protagonist Jake Peralta, the detectives of the 99 deal with burglaries, drug deals, and oddities in New York City, occasionally steering into real-world issues surrounding police perception and social concerns in the 2010s and earlier. Each detective has their own unique personality that makes them stand out, creating endearing dynamics that helped the show thrive for eight seasons.
