  • The marketing for this movie will go down as truly atrocious. It is nothing like what I was led to believe it would be like. Yes, it is overtly emotionally manipulative, but it got to me. Think the sheer charisma and talent of Will Smith did a lot of the heavy lifting in this one. Much better than I thought it was going to be.

  • I unapologetically love this movie. I don't know what it is about it, but it is just so beautiful. We follow three characters each going through these hard points in their life and what starts out as a sort of mean prank in a way, turns into these three beautiful stories of change, only to be topped off by Will Smith's character development. I've experienced great loss and I know how easy it can be to lose yourself and want to shut the world out, but this movie generally helped me see another side of things. I lost my father when I was a teenager and as hard as it was, I think about this moment right after that my sisters and I sat on the floor in a group hug and just held each other while we cried and when I think of collateral beauty, I think of that moment. The beautiful moments of life that result from the depths of our pain. This movie is just so beautiful and I sob like a little baby every time I watch it.
