Synopsis

'Dracula Untold' Review

'Dracula Untold' is not a masterful or deep re-introduction to the franchise; but as basic genre fare, it's relatively fun in its depiction of the monster in a different light.

Universal so badly wanted Dark Universe to happen, and this movie shows why it wouldn't work. Dracula Untold is overly serious, and forgets that its main character is supposed to be a villain, not a sadboy out for vengeance. There's a reason Bram Stoker's original novel keeps getting read and remade, and this version remains "untold."
