  • Dune: Part Two is spectacular and impressive in just about every conceivable way. A true modern epic that will be ed for decades as a feat of both story and visual achievement. The way that Villeneuve is able to efficiently condense the massive world introduced in Frank Herbert's novel into such an accessible and fluid product is arguably the greatest cinematic feat of 2024.

Chalamet once again proves that he is as versatile as he is magnetic, while the rest of the ensemble cast meshes perfectly into their respective roles, particularly Rebecca Ferguson's unforgettable Lady Jessica. It would be easy enough to call Dune the Star Wars of our time because of the scale and setting alone, but Villeneuve has actually lifted Dune to an equal level as George Lucas's first two Star Wars movies. Even with its success and popularity, Dune 2 still feels unappreciated in ways. It has a real case for winning Best Picture at next year's Oscars and I think it absolutely deserves it.

  • Dune sured all expectations to be one of the best sci-fi films in years, and sure enough, Dune: Part Two was an even better follow-up thanks to its incredible action and a script that does far more to sell the strengths of its cast. Denis Villeneuve has done an incredible job with revitalizing the iconic sci-fi franchise, and whatever he does next with it is sure to be amazing.

  • Visually stunning, but emotionally very empty. The designs of the ships, planets, clothes, sandworms, everything is beautiful and shows the magic film can accomplish. Otherwise, I feel like there's a lot of "And then we'll go here. Timothy Chalumet is our special god guy. Then we'll go here." There are no moments of joy, fun, or happiness to break up the gloom.

  • With a phenomenal score and spectacular storytelling and visuals, Dune Part 2 is an entertaining sci-fi film thanks to Chalamet's compelling performance and Villeneuve's direction.

  • I really like this movie but felt myself straining to have it finish up a little quicker. It's thrilling but I appreciate the world building and sheer awe of Part One a bit more. Dune: Messiah is my favorite book from the series though and I believe could become my favorite movie in this new Dune movie series.
