  • The combination of Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry instantly should alert you that this is not going to be a normal movie. Following the love story of two people who erase the painful memories of their relationship, only to remake the same mistakes, this film does what the best sci-fi does, using technology to define our humanity.

  • Jim Carrey at his best for me in this one. A very sad movie that explores a relationship that always felt destined to fall apart. If you had to opportunity to erase someone you loved so much from your memory because it hurt to much to think about them, would you do it?

  • Anyone who has experienced heartbreak of any kind is going to be effected by this movie. This movie is oddly poetic in how it tries to not only rationalize heartbreak, but get the viewer to understand the importance of heartbreak, even appreciate it on a certain level. Love, love, love it.

  • One of my favorite films of all time. Clementine may be irritating, but the film does a great job portraying two really challenged people, and how they might find love. Likely Kaufman's most memorable scripts, with scenes like the ice scene serving as hugely iconic images.

  • A truly smart movie that works hard to situate its core sci-fi premise in a believable world, subtly working in different thought experiments involving the ability to erase your memories of someone you used to love. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are truly weird casting for their respective characters, but they both feel intensely real.
