An absolute masterpiece with heartwarming, funny, and emotional scenes. Tom Hank's role as Forrest is masterfully done, with conscientious portrayal of his disabilities. For its time, the cinematography and CGI moments where Forrest is interjected into real history was shown so well that some people wondered if it was true! The gutwrenching moments during the war and portrayal of political unrest was done tastefully and accurately. Overall, this is a wonderful movie with a beautiful, icon music score and packed with plot action. Highly recommended.

Forest Gump is the only movie I can think of that was BETTER than the book, in many ways. Still a phenomenal film.

While there are some problematic moments looking back now, Forrest Gump is overall a classic film. It is a career best performance from Tom Hanks, and it’s equal parts endearing and emotional.

Incredibly, achingly bad and pointless. Navel-gazing political references play out without any real commentary, and Tom Hanks aping disability was wrong then and wrong now.

A novel meant to be US historical satire in the vein of Being There, it was instead turned into a blockbuster sensation by taking it very seriously and sappily.
