  • Get Out was more than just a revelation for nascent horror director Jordan Peele when it came out — it was partially responsible for promoting the resurgence of the social horror film. I feel like you see so much more in this subgenre recently, and Get Out just works on the level of horror, performance, and social commentary.

  • This is one of my favorite horror/thrillers of ALL time. Jordan Peele is incredible and Daniel Kaluuya KILLS IT in this movie. It has suspense, it has a bit of mystery, it has plot twists (if you didn't see them coming), and just every single second of this from the very beginning keeps you on the edge of your seat. The whole film you know something isn't quite right but you can't put your finger on it which just adds to the overall eerieeness. Also SO to Lil Rel Howery for being the perfect comic relief to this film.

  • I don't know how many of us could have predicted that the guy who did the Obama impression would turn into the most whip-smart writer-director of a generation, but here we are. Get Out is terrifying without needing gore and jump scares, but just by addressing the ways we use black bodies in modern America. Daniel Kaluuya is perfect as Chris, representing both his sensitive side, and his need to code switch with his girlfriend's family.

  • Get Out is haunting in though provoking ways. The dread present throughout is palpable and the moments of comedic levity elevate this movie even higher. Glad that this movie came out of nowhere and shot Peele into stardom immediately. Will watch anything he chooses to make.
