  • I have yet to find anyone that's a fan of Halloween that does not have a deep love for this movie. Not only is it a nostalgic title, but it is still genuinely one of the best halloween/spooky vibes movies you can watch to kick off the Fall season. I watch it every year and I have yet to grow tired of it. The costumes, the music, the atmosphere, and everything are just timeless and I think that no matter what, this movie will remain timeless rewatch for many. However, that being said, I don't think everything that is this big still needs to be reworked, such as having a sequel. Part of what makes this movie so special is that it remained untouched and perfect, but the sequel does kind of leave a sour taste when watching this one, so I'd rather pretend that one doesn't exist and just view this as all there is for these iconic witches.

  • Hands down, one of my favorite Halloween movies ever! It's fun, it's hilarious and I love singing along with it. I have to watch it everytime it comes on. Between the costumes, the writing and the casting, it is a pure gem in my heart.

  • Hocus Pocus is a Halloween classic and sure to get just about anyone in the Halloween spirit. It's nearly impossible to watch Hocus Pocus and not feel some sense of nostalgia and excitement for the Halloween season.

  • It's rare for a kids' movie to remain appealing 30 years after its debut instead it's a Disney princess movie. Hocus Pocus defies the odds though. It's so very '90s in its execution with some language and relationship dynamics that we would find problematic by today's standards, but it doesn't lose its charm as a result. There's something deeply entertaining in watching Max, Dani, and Allison ally with a talking cat and a zombie to take on the worst witches in Salem. The casting of Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as the scenery-chewing witches remains perfect, even in the less-than-perfect sequel.

Hocus Pocus Review: The Sanderson Sisters Continue To Benefit From The age Of Time
7/10

Hocus Pocus brings together comedy and spookiness thanks to the Sanderson Sisters, but forgets its target audience from time to time.
