I'm Thinking of Ending Things is the rare horror comedy that leans more into horror, and it's better for it. Glib, caustic and with no apologies to offer, the movie's nature changes shape at least twice, getting more surreal while becoming no less unnerving. The ending is a big swing and a pseudo-departure from the book that takes a chance and justifies adapting the story to film.
