Synopsis

A softball biopic about the father that pushed two little girls to be international sports superstars. Honestly he seemed mean and the film doesn’t seem to want to reckon with that. Felt a bit disingenuous to focus so much on him and not more on the Williams sisters.

This movie has gotten a lot dicier because of the whole Will Smith slap incident at the Oscars, but as a biopic, I do think it works pretty well. The relationship between the two sisters is portrayed in an interesting way, and Will Smith is truly at his best.
