  • While it could never be the surprise that Kingsman originally was, The Golden Circle is a perfectly serviceable follow-up. Egerton, Firth and Strong are wonderful as the returning agents, while Berry, Pascal, and Tatum's US counterparts are welcome additions. Returning turncoat Charlie is a wonderful rival to Eggsy, alongside Moore's delightfully villainous Poppy. The subtext is very on-the-nose, but is an interesting plot to follow-up. What doesn't work is the fridging of Lancelot, and the attempts to one-up the surprising shock, but solid action and one of the best singer cameos make it a fun follow-up.

  • It's good to know that Matthew Vaughn has the rights to the Kingsman franchise, and he can work around Mr Assbell, oops I meant only one s, no I didn't.

I have enjoyed all three of the Kingsman movies, even though the scene depicting the death of the Dukes son totally stopped the building momentum, I believe that it was picked back up for some great scenes.

The scene dealing with the death of Rasputin is worth watching the movie alone, and there's some top notch acting from top notch actors.

I for one would very much love to see a continuation of the franchise.

  • Real bad! Kingsman itself was so fresh and fun, but the Golden Circle jumps the shark, pushing suspension of disbelief too far thanks to an obsession with aping Bond that doesn't land and isn't even necessary for a franchise that initially found a voice of its own.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle doubles down on slick action and spy genre riffs, but adds enough fresh and fun elements to provide an exciting sequel.
