This movie will always be so special to me because it was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre as a kid! It's incredibly charming and funny and just such an original concept. The film's only gotten better as I rewatch it as an adult since I can now truly see Nani's struggles and appreciate her as a character. A goofy alien story crossed with a touching family drama doesn't sound like something that should work, but it just does.

I don't understand why Lilo and Stitch isn't more appreciated. The characters are realistic body types, which is rare for Disney movies. They all have unique personalities that reel realistic. Moreover, Nani is one of the best parental figures of all time, working hard to care for her sister after the responsibility was thrust on her. She and Lilo have such a loving but realistic relationship with ups and downs. Lilo and Stitch deserves all kinds of praise.

Lilo and Stitch is easily one of Disney's weirdest films with its unconventional cast and plot, but not only does that make it one of their most hilarious, it perfectly leads into a surprisingly heartfelt story about family with one of the most nuanced conflicts of any family film of the past two decades. Disney's output in the 2000s was largely a mixed bag, but Lilo and Stitch was one of the best films to come out during that time and is easily one of their best films, overall.

One of the many Disney classics that is always a good time anytime you watch it. The story and music for this are incredible and as someone who has an older sister and a younger sister, I can understand both sides of the dynamic and how difficult those relationships can be, especially when one if forced to take on a parental role. I love this movie and I'm really terrified to see the live-action remake of it.

From writing to art design to music, an all-around perfect family film. The behind the scenes stories from the development of this film are enthralling, but don't outshine the story of the actual movie. I walking around Disney World in 2003, desperately trying to find any merch for this movie, and the only thing I could get was an art book about production, from the Polynesian Resort hotel. Now that Stitch is one of Disney's top merch character, it's a funny memory.

I love this movie and teaches the meaning of Ohana and finding your place.

It breaks away from that fairytale magic Disney built their brand on and were potentially hesitant to do after certain movies fell through, but combines the fun of a sci-fi comedy with a emotional story of a family persevering and growing through pain, and the power behind its message hits harder as you get older.
