  • This movie will always be so special to me because it was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre as a kid! It's incredibly charming and funny and just such an original concept. The film's only gotten better as I rewatch it as an adult since I can now truly see Nani's struggles and appreciate her as a character. A goofy alien story crossed with a touching family drama doesn't sound like something that should work, but it just does.

  • I don't understand why Lilo and Stitch isn't more appreciated. The characters are realistic body types, which is rare for Disney movies. They all have unique personalities that reel realistic. Moreover, Nani is one of the best parental figures of all time, working hard to care for her sister after the responsibility was thrust on her. She and Lilo have such a loving but realistic relationship with ups and downs. Lilo and Stitch deserves all kinds of praise.

  • Lilo and Stitch is easily one of Disney's weirdest films with its unconventional cast and plot, but not only does that make it one of their most hilarious, it perfectly leads into a surprisingly heartfelt story about family with one of the most nuanced conflicts of any family film of the past two decades. Disney's output in the 2000s was largely a mixed bag, but Lilo and Stitch was one of the best films to come out during that time and is easily one of their best films, overall.

  • This is one of the best classic Disney films by far, with so much heart and charm. The animation is bright, colorful, and vivid and the story is compelling, with important messages about family and life woven into the entertaining narrative.

  • A fun family film that takes the time to depict its characters as real people with believable reactions to their impossible situation. There's a reason people still discuss Lilo and Stitch today while other movies targeting the same audience are forgotten in six months.

Synopsis

In Hawaii, Lilo, a young parentless girl being raised by her older sister, adopts a "dog" from the local shelter. Naming him Stitch, Lilo is unaware that the creature is actually an alien experiment, and he soon starts wreaking havoc at home and across the island.
