  • Like many of Pixar's recent films, Luca doesn't have the tightest script and doesn't reach the same emotional highs as their stronger films, but between the strong visuals, great comedy, and excellent themes of friendship and family, it's no less fun to watch. Even with its shortcomings, Luca still gets to the heart of what makes Pixar so great, and that makes it plenty worth watching from start to finish.

  • Fantastic movie about the growing pains of trying to fit in and find friendship as a child. Luca is a refreshing take on children's movies where there is no "Big Bad Guy." Instead, the tale is one of adventure and wonder as Luca befriends Alberto after discovering they share the secret of being merfolk. Alberto manages to show Luca what the world is like on land, without rehashing tropes from tales like The Little Mermaid. This is a lighthearted film with a few moments of distress but lacking any major peril or danger, yet was still entirely engaging. Highly underrated!

  • This is a cute film that is absolutely gorgeous to look at. The narrative reminded me more of Ghibli than Pixar which made me wish that it was hand drawn instead. Love how the characters grow throughout this film. Their bond is wonderful. A bit slight overall, but a pleasant watch that leaves you feeling better once its over.

  • Such a wholesome film. For those of us who like to analyze everything, there are a lot of great themes about acceptance and a sense of belongings. For those who want just a simpler watch, Luca is a sweet movie about friendship and curiosity. It's one of those feel good films that I'd put on in the background after a tough day.

  • Luca's animation is very well done and the story itself is adorable and evokes a sense of childlike wonder. There are some great lessons about friendship and growing up thrown in there as well, making it as valuable a film as it is entertaining.
