  • Mad Max: Fury Road is like one hairy ride through an apocalyptic wasteland. The film has such raw energy and high-octane action that leaves one gasping for breath. Tom Hardy gives a strong performance as the titular character in this movie. Charlize Theron's Furiosa is a different entity bringing great depth and strength into the story. Take the sandstorm scene, which was a visual beauty. As Max and Furiosa drive into a massive sandstorm, the mix of practical effects and CGI really does something.

  • By the standards of the time it came out, great movie, but loses its luster knowing how it pales in comparison to what the franchise would become with Fury Road and Road Warrior.

  • Not the biggest fan of the franchise overall, but quite enjoy the humble, low budget beginnings of this first one. My second favorite film in the series behind Fury Road. It's incredibly lean with a nasty streak throughout. Like how the world hadn't completely fallen into chaos yet, but the cracks were showing,
