I like that rather than just do a shot-for-shot live-action remake, like Disney often chooses to do, of Sleeping Beauty, they chose to rewrite an entirely new story. Angelina Jolie's performance is captivating, and so are the fantasy elements and impressive visuals.

This is really a hair and makeup and costume design freak's dream, but the actual content of the film was nothing special. I think it is one of those unnecessary spinoffs / requels, even if it does look visually nice.
