  • Some might argue that sequels never live up to the original, and while Meryl Streep is definitely missed in this installment, the Mamma Mia sequel is just as fun and charming as the first movie. Sure, some of the ABBA music here seems to be shoehorned in just to use a specific song or two, but when that's being done to give Cher a musical number, it's a little hard to complain. The highlight of the movie is seeing Donna in flashback, playing by Lily James, as she meets each of Sophie's potential fathers from the first movie. Getting the full backstory instead of just Donna's journal entries, with songs like "Waterloo," and "Why Did It Have To Be Me" to go along with them is fantastic.

  • I enjoyed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again more than the original. It was cute, upbeat, and offered a lot of character development. Of course, Abba music is always going to win me over, too. The story isn't unique, and sometimes it comes across as corny. However, that doesn't make it any less entertaining.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again Review: Silly Fun is the Name of the Game
7/10

For Mamma Mia! fans, Here We Go Again! offers a jubilant return to the unapologetically silly world of the original ABBA stage musical-turned movie.
