  • Megamind was truly ahead of its time as the DreamWorks movie told a fantastic story of a supervillain turned superhero. The protagonist's transition towards a brighter path was well executed, and despite his obvious flaws, it's hard not to root for Megamind. The animation is also excellent with the central characters helping progress the story in a way that doesn't feel forced. The realistic depiction of Metro Man genuinely becoming tired of heroism and faking his death to get away from it was a breath of fresh air and proves the film wasn't afraid to take risks. Sadly, the studio failed to capitalize on its momentum and any late attempts of a sequel have fallen way short in comparison, but that only adds to how underrated this animated classic is, and it's well worth the watch.

  • I've always loved Megamind and viewed it as one of Dreamworks' hidden gems that people unfortunately always seem to forget about. It's a different twist on the typical superhero story that is hilarious, and Will Ferrell's voice acting shines, bringing the titular character to life.

  • Megamind is so underrated! It is a shame that it was largely overshadowed by Despicable Me, because Megamind may be more fantastic. Some quotable lines that I still think about today, and it holds up on rewatch.

  • While Megamind might not have as tight a script as some of Dreamworks' more iconic films, it still does a great job with its comedy, especially when it comes to satirizing superhero stories, and it's paired wonderfully with a surprisingly heartfelt story about self-improvement. Megamind has gained a major cult following in recent years thanks to people reevaluating its merits as a story, and that reputation is more than deserved.

Megamind Review
6/10

With some cool superhero action, 'Megamind' is mildly amusing for the most part, but it feels like it could have been much better.
