Synopsis
Directed by Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom is set on the fictional New England Island of New Penzance. The film follows Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop, two adolescent residents of the island who, after falling in love through letters, hatch a plan to run away together in order to escape their difficult lives. The ensemble cast includes Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, s McDormand, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton.

As a die hard Wes Anderson film fan, I love Moonrise Kingdom. The beach scene and more is so memorable, and it is a great example of the very Andersonian trope of precocious kids acting adultlike and adults rendered childlike, but for a tangible thematic point.

The Wes Anderson film that made me like Wes Anderson. The handcrafted twee somehow hit the tone perfectly here, and allowed me to go back and appreciate his previous works.
