I don't think anything could have prepared me for this film. From the opening scene I was laughing every couple of minutes. It throws so many gags your way that even if one feels a little poor taste or doesn't land, that the next is likely to get you, or the sheer absurdity overwhelms you. Nielsen is an absolute treasure, and this style of humor really couldn't work without him, able to sell even the silliest moments as the straight man, while also being lovably dim-witted.

A parody of police procedurals starring Leslie Nielsen, who was a serious actor for most of his career before finding a late-in-life calling in comedy. Based on the short-lived TV series of the same name, the comedy doesn't quite hold up, even when it's not being delivered by OJ Simpson.
