Never Have I Ever is smart, creative, funny, and includes great representation. Devi feels like a real person rather than a character. I cried, laughed, and felt embarrassment for her throughout the series. The story was a roller coaster of emotions. Unlike many high school-centric shows, Never Have I Ever characters feel like actual teenagers, which is always a plus. I fully recommend this Netflix show.

Never Have I Ever is a laugh-out-loud-funny teen show that also knows how to pack an emotional wallop. Devi is a flawed character, and at times she can really try my patience, but her overall growth throughout the show's run makes this a highlight of the YA genre. Plus, her relationship with her mom is complex and well-written, and the love interests are all pretty stellar.

Never Have I Ever is very far from being the best show on television, but you can't help but note how it really commits to its major beats, from the narration, and more. The show's side characters do often feel a bit over-the-top, but Devi herself is an interesting character to follow over the seasons.
