Nosferatu is a remake of the 1922 silent film of the same name from director F. W. Murnau. Robert Eggers is crafting his own version of the story for the reboot as writer and director, with Bill Skarsgård stepping into the shoes of Count Orlok. Nosferatu tells the tale of a young woman who falls victim to a vampire utterly infatuated with her.

Eggers does a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the vampire story. Making it a dark fantasy full of occult elements and nuances. The characters are extremely authentic right down to the amazing costumes and wardrobe choices. Locations and set pieces are works of art lending the feel of a painting to the visual vocabulary of the film. A must see.
I have seen all the vampire movies, even tge 1922 version of Nosferato. Because that 1 was silent, it made it more scary because of the music.
But Robert Eggars version provokes ALL YOUR EMOTIONS is so capivatingly authentic that you feel like you are right there! The scenery, acting, props and costumes (and none) can take to a place that you dont realize as New! It has love, sex, horror, empathy and death entwined all in 1. My other favorite scary movie is the Shining which is more a psycological thriller.
I suggest the viewer go see Nosferatu at the theatre because it is Art in Motion and you can not fully appreciate the film unless you witness it in the big screen! My favorite RE film! This will be talked about and re introduced in the following years. It is a measure of what you get from love, fear, capitulation, discovery and death. You can not easily forget this film even weeks later!
I love Willem DaFoe, Lily Rose Depp, and feel that all the actors are Oscar Worthy, including the Director!
I thoroughly enjoyed Nosferatu. I've watched Eggers other films as well and this is my favorite. In my opinion, Nosferatu has the best story line of them all as well as the beauty of the gothic scenery in the film. The acting is superb as well.
This show had the right mixture of Horror, camp, comedy, and great acting. It was almost as if I could imagine myself being in a 1940s matinee watching a big budget production. I think they really tried to honor the 1922 silent film and the original novel.
Scary intense fun all the way though
Being a fan of Vampire movies, l really enjoyed this movie. It was both suspenseful and alluring. The cinematography was spectacular with it's very dark and gloomy imagery, making great use of the Chiaroscuro technique, creating images synonymous with Dracula and his castle high up in the in mountains of Transylvania. #loveit
After seeing my slew of horror films over the years, I was surprised at how Robert Eggars was able to create such a truly scare fest of atmospherics and gothic horror. He truly made Count Orlok scary by using him sparingly in the most effective ways. I only hope that Eggars and the filmmakers are inspired to do an original prequel showing Count Orlok in his prime. They could really create something very scary and special!
I thought it was a little slow in the beginning but overall I thought it was really good and I would see it again. Definitely deserves to win awards in 2025!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Boring, too dark... Cinematography, not thematically
Poor and so predictable.
I saw it on Christmas and will be seeing it again today. It was everything I wanted and expected from Robert Eggers. It is a beautiful and atmospheric film, some scenes are like a haunting gothic portrait. The performances, especially Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Willem Defoe and of course Bill Skarsgard were resplendent. I found myself tense up in certain parts and was in awe during others. I loved how The Count looked like a nobleman of that time would have actually looked, if they were a dead rotting preternatural being. Skarsgard's voice and the work he put into creating it, was horrifying. It was so disarming and I could feel it in my chest when he spoke. This film gave me a visceral reaction. I love how Eggers creates these worlds that draw you in and immerse you into it. I think this is his best work to date. It's s a different telling of a well known tale we love to hear. It feels like folklore and rooted in a tale told from gothic horror. This is my favorite of his films, I am a fan and appreciate his vision. I have read the criticism and I just don't think his movies are for the general public. They are not for the average movie goer, that aren't into artistically curated, historically accurate, and slower paced character driven films. He makes films for people that want a more unique film experience. I think his is a niche audience, and it's obvious some people just don't get it and therefore won't enjoy what he's created. That's okay, I am just thrilled to live in a time to experience the world of Robert Eggers.
It was too slow-moving, with no female vamps, and Renfeld was more scary when he bite off the pigeons head.
I believe Gary Oldman demonstrated the best Count, with a close second by Christopher Lee.
This movie was frighteningly excellent and well done by ALL actors. The choice of the writer to stick to the original storyline was a good one…but not so sure about the choice of the mustache on the Count. With no hair anywhere else on his body (and yes, including no pubic in full frontal nudity), why on earth would they choose for him to have hair on his face? No reason, and got in the way of the character, but not enough for me not to LOVE it as the next best horror film out there. SO well acted, another great character by Bill.

So slow. Nothing really happens. It's extremely dark and sometimes it's difficult to understand what he is saying. I'd have to say if there's nothing else to watch I'd probably do some decorating before I'd watch this .
While the original silent film relied on movement, light, and shadow to build suspense and dread, the Eggers release masterfully uses the sound, tone, and ambient score to deliver the darkness of Count Orlock. Along with Skarsgards haunting inflection of a centuries dead language, THIS Nosferatu reaches a level of fear and dread that can only be accomplished today in modern films. The silent version was a Pinnacle film in the horror genre. It will always have a place in film as a launching point for how to build horror and suspense. But as a whole, the attention to light, shadow, feel, look, sound, and all that it represents is one that Robert Eggers will have a tough time suring in future horror endeavors. This Nosferatu is far and away the best version of this aged old tale to date, in my humble opinion of course. Enjoy and cheers to more horror films like this.
Great cinematography, but it was boring otherwise. A few in theater fell asleep! Orlok should NOT have a moustache. I was very disappointed.
You know, i'm inclined to wonder if the director just took a bow to the previous movie and said, if you want to watch that, maybe you can watch that....and then watch this. The Demeter movie I watched and I recognize that it was that story of coming over on a ship...
It's a good standalone movie, and for me. I'm glad to have both movies as kind of a collection, even though it's not intuitively that way for a lot of people, because it's not the same director.
An intense film experience. Haven't seen a movie like this in many years. In many ways it harks back to The Exorcist.
It was a beautifully done film. The costumes, the back drops, the props, the actors. The only thing missing was the appeal of the vampire’s lure, his pull, seduction of the female. This Orlok was not even remotely sexy, but revolting. That part of a vampire seducing a woman against her will is what makes vampires so sexy. This film lacked that magical ingredient. Everything else was good.

It's a good show,With details and I enjoyed the show,It's interesting show and also really like the first Nosferatu and Lily-Rose Depp did a amazing job with her character and the scene near the ending makes it all worth to watch and Nicholas Hoult did an amazing job as well and I really appreciate the show and all the actors who played in the show.
